Job Description
First Call Locums are looking for Nurse Practitioners in Purfleet-on-thames.
This opportunity offers flexible sessional work across various primary care services, providing options for clinicians experienced in minor illness, triage support, and patient-focused consultations with clear clinical pathways.
Role Snapshot
• You will work within a supportive primary care team where systems, templates, and escalation routes are well-established, enabling you to focus on quality consultations and safe outcomes.
• Flexible sessions available, with options of up to 3 days per week depending on your preference.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage minor illness presentations using evidence-based decision-making.
• Provide telephone or online triage support as required by the service model.
• Deliver health promotion and preventative care advice during consultations.
• Escalate complex presentations appropriately and follow local safeguarding processes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coding in line with practice standards.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, ANPs, and nursing colleagues to support patient flow.
Requirements
• NMC registration with relevant advanced practice or NP training aligned to the role.
• Recent UK primary care experience in a nurse practitioner capacity.
• Strong knowledge of clinical red flags, safety netting, and escalation thresholds.
• Confident communication skills across diverse patient groups.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to the wider team.
• Compliance documentation including DBS and mandatory training where applicable.
Working Pattern
• Part-time sessions available with flexible booking patterns.
• Typical availability includes up to 3 days per week, with a choice of morning, afternoon, or full-day blocks.
• Clinical system and induction details provided ahead of your first session.
