Job Description

First Call Locums is looking for Practice Nurse clinicians to support a friendly GP practice nursing team in High Wycombe.

This role offers a professional, organised clinic environment with clear protocols, reliable administrative support, and a collaborative nursing set-up. You will have the opportunity to focus on high-quality long-term condition care and treatment room duties, with appropriate support for escalation and continuity.

Up to 4 days a week available with flexibility on clinic days.

A Practice Nurse role with structured clinics and a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver treatment room duties including immunisations, wound care and injections as required
• Support long-term condition reviews in line with practice protocols
• Undertake cervical cytology where trained and competent
• Provide health promotion advice and patient education to support self-management
• Maintain accurate documentation, coding and infection control standards

Requirements
• NMC registration with recent UK general practice nursing experience
• Competence in treatment room duties and chronic disease management as applicable
• Cytology qualification desirable where relevant to the clinic requirement
• Up-to-date immunisation knowledge, safeguarding awareness and infection control standards
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach to patient care

Working Pattern
• Part-time availability up to 4 days a week with flexibility
• Regular weekly clinics or short-term cover can be arranged
• Session times can be agreed to suit service need and your availability
