Job Description

First Call Locums are looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioners in Buchlyvie.

This opportunity offers flexible sessional work across various primary care services, providing options for clinicians experienced in advanced assessment, minor illness management, and integrated working with GP and nursing teams.

Role Snapshot
• You will be supported by clear clinical governance, established protocols, and an organised operational setup that enables safe autonomous practice with reliable escalation routes when needed.
• Flexible sessions available, with options of up to 2 days per week depending on your preference.

Key Responsibilities
• Assess, diagnose, and manage undifferentiated presentations within scope of practice.
• Undertake clinical triage and prioritisation to support same-day demand.
• Request investigations and interpret results, escalating appropriately where indicated.
• Provide clear safety netting and follow-up plans tailored to patient needs.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and clinical coding standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient pathways and outcomes.

Requirements
• Relevant professional registration and ACP qualification or equivalent advanced practice training.
• Recent UK primary care or urgent primary care experience in an advanced role.
• Strong clinical reasoning, risk management, and escalation judgement.
• Evidence of up-to-date mandatory training and safeguarding competence.
• Ability to work confidently within protocols while exercising sound autonomy.
• Successful completion of compliance checks including DBS where required.

Working Pattern
• Temporary sessions with flexible booking to suit your schedule.
• Typical availability includes up to 2 days per week, with options for regular weekly cover.
• Clinic structure and system details shared in advance to support a smooth start.
