Job Description
First Call Locums are looking for Advanced Nurse Practitioners in Wells-next-the-sea.
This opportunity offers flexible sessional work across various primary care services, providing options for clinicians experienced in minor illness, urgent on-the-day presentations, and holistic patient assessment.
Role Snapshot
• You will join a supportive, well-organised practice environment with clear clinical pathways, efficient administration support, and access to senior clinical advice to help you work confidently and safely across a varied caseload.
• Flexible sessions available, with options of up to 3 days per week depending on your preference.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver same-day and routine appointments, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Undertake independent prescribing in line with current guidance and local formularies.
• Manage acute presentations and escalate appropriately when red flags are identified.
• Provide clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team and contribute to safe triage decisions.
• Complete accurate, contemporaneous clinical records and safety netting.
• Support chronic disease reviews where appropriate and contribute to preventative care conversations.
Requirements
• NMC registration with an Advanced Practice qualification or equivalent ANP credentialing.
• Independent Prescriber qualification with recent prescribing experience in primary care.
• Recent UK primary care experience with confidence managing undifferentiated presentations.
• Sound knowledge of NICE guidance, safeguarding, and clinical risk management.
• Ability to work autonomously while recognising escalation thresholds.
• Current DBS and evidence of mandatory training compliance where applicable.
Working Pattern
• Locum sessions with flexible booking patterns to suit your availability.
• Typical options include up to 3 days per week, with a mix of morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions.
• System and workflow will be confirmed prior to booking to ensure a smooth start.
